LEE COUNTY, FL To help entice increased visitation in a challenging economy, the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) representing The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel, is launching a year-long The Beach Brings Balance sweepstakes featuring a grand prize of $10,000 in cash.

Everyone who registers for the sweepstakes automatically will be entered into the cash prize drawing, and each entrant also will have an opportunity to win instant prizes such as destination vacations and a set of Adirondack chairs. The seven-day/six-night vacation trips for two include accommodations and round-trip airfare, and one trip will be awarded during each quarter of the year. Plus, one set of two chairs will be awarded on a weekly basis.

To enter the contest, consumers visit www.TheBeachBringsBalance.com to engage in an interactive on-line balancing game that allows them to register for the prizes. The game features two hammocks swaying between three palm trees. Once visitors register on the site, they can click above each hammock to drop destination icons such as seashells, dolphins and native flowers into each of the two hammocks with the objective of balancing the weight evenly between the two. Once game participants achieve balance, they have an opportunity to win the instant prizes and learn more about vacationing on The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel.

The destination is holding the sweepstakes throughout 2009 and promoting it through its ongoing Island Treasures Tour to major feeder markets, its fulfillment packet and its direct sales calls to prospects. The contest began Jan. 1, 2009 and runs through Dec. 31, 2009; and the grand prize will be drawn in January 2010. The sweepstakes is open only to legal U.S. residents who are at least 18 years of age.
