Lee VCB “Team Tourism” hosts workshop on strengthening destination branding efforts

LEE COUNTY, FL—The Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau (VCB) will host the first “Team Tourism” workshop of the New Year on Jan. 21 from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the Crowne Plaza Fort Myers, 13051 Bell Tower Drive.

Open to everyone in the community and the hospitality industry, the workshop will examine marketing and how to create and integrate a strong, attractive brand.

Gary Mueller, senior vice president and creative director for bvk, the VCB’s advertising agency, will speak about “The Power of a Brand.” In this presentation Gary uncovers what successful brands all have in common and shares tips on how to get started down the path to building customer desire for your brand. Translating brand platforms into creative executions has earned Mueller multiple awards, including features in such leading trade publications as Adweek, Ad Age, Communication Arts, Graphis, Print and Archive.

Jennifer Simmons, vice president of marketing strategy and research for bvk, will present “Integrating Brands – Yours and the Destination’s.” The development of successful marketing strategies founded on insights gained from innovative research is Simmons’ specialty. She brings hands-on experience to the process as a skilled group moderator, research analyst and high-level strategist.

Cost is $25 per person at the door. Light refreshments will be served.
