LEE COUNTY, FL – The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) welcomes a new member to the staff: Laurie Poppalardo, marketing integrator.

Main responsibilities of the position will be to function as a traffic manager for bureau-wide projects and to serve as the liaison between the bureau’s advertising agency, BVK, and the VCB – to effectively promote The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel in southwest Florida.

Poppalardo will be assisting with the marketing strategy, planning, budgeting, scheduling, and evaluating of all print and electronic advertising. Other duties will include the development of creative ideas and concepts for in-house collateral; solicit, compile, and ensure editorial accuracy and partner inclusion in various collateral and the VCB Web site; review of advertising budget and cost estimates; and growth and implementation of plans that take advantage of technology and electronic initiatives.

Poppalardo’s most recently served as president of LB Strategies in Massachusetts, a political consulting, strategy, and fundraising organization. Other career positions for a variety of industries utilized her strong sales and marketing skills, in such areas as the development of business plans, the creation of successful sales teams, and the establishment of new client relationships.

Poppalardo earned her bachelor of science degree in industrial organizational psychology from Suffolk University in Boston.
