Oil Spill Update - July 19

As we work together to combat misperceptions about the oil spill affecting our shores, I would like to encourage you to share current pictures of our beaches and waterways on the VCB's Facebook wall.

We've noticed the beautiful images you are posting on your walls, and would like to give our fans the chance to see them as well - as the saying goes, a picture is worth 1,000 words.

The VCB is working hard, with your help, to spread the word that our destination is clean, pristine and open for business. As you may know, all of the pictures posted on our Facebook page are automatically streamed to our consumer website and to Visit Florida's website, as well. This allows potential visitors to see that The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel is 'Still Pristine'!

We encourage you to post images directly on our Facebook wall or, if you don't use Facebook, e-mail them kmeckley@leegov.com and we will post them for you. Also, feel free to send pictures to be used on Twitter.

If you haven't visited our Beaches Now page, you can view it at www.FortMyersSanibel.com/beaches_now .

In advance, thank you for your help! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Tamara Pigott
Executive Director
