Funding Request Form

The deadline for submitting a fiscal year 2008-2009 beach & shoreline funding request was February 13, 2008.

A total of 25 requests were received by the deadline, and each request has been reviewed by the Lee County Attorney’s Office to ensure eligibility for tourist tax funding. Click here to review the FY09 requests (PDF* format).

The projects will be reviewed by the Lee County Coastal Advisory Council on Monday, March 10, 2008. This review will begin at 9:30 a.m. in East Room on the 2nd floor of the Old Lee County Courthouse (2120 Main Street, Fort Myers).

The Lee County Tourist Development Council (TDC) will hold a workshop to review requests on Wednesday, April 23, 2008. This workshop will begin at 1:30 p.m.; all requesting agencies are encouraged to be present during this workshop.

On Friday, May 2, 2008 the TDC will offer final funding recommendations during the TDC meeting at Harborside Event Center (1375 Monroe Street, Fort Myers). This meeting will begin either at 9:00 a.m. or immediately following the conclusion of Annual Tourism Breakfast.

Following TDC approval, the projects become part of Lee County’s FY 2008-2009 annual budget; this budget is subject to the approval of the Lee County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC). If approved by the BoCC, funds will be made available in October 2008.
